I would be interested in hearing something about it as well.

I'd go for in but also keep in mind that they are experiencing shrinking revenues and recently almost had a hostile takeover. Service was the first thing they scaled back, and ADP reps are feeding off their spoils.

Why are they in such bad shape?

Ceridian is not in bad shape. 3rd Q 2009 was the biggest sales quarter in company histroy. I worked at ADP for several years and have been at Ceridian for three. Culture is better. Pay is better. Management is not up your ass about every little thing and report. Sales people for the most part are more tenured and professional.
Whenever we get together for national/regional meetings the old ADP reps always share horror stories of stuff we had to to back when we worked there. 7:30 roll calls on Friday morning. Phone blitzes selling CD reports and birthday reports. Phone blitzes for Totalsource. ADP tells you that this is your business but you constantly feel like you are doing someone elses work.
I'm no disgruntled employee either- two clubs in three years. I made great friendships at ADP and they gave me a sales job right out of college making way more money than my friends were.
Bottom line.. if you are considering working for ADP then get in, do well, and get out. You'll like the people you work with but management can be tough.

Nice post. If management at most companies could only realize how much talent they run off with their stupid policies.
