This is one of the very worst companies in America. I worked in the National Account uniform division. My experience:
1. The company culture is a cult! The people are weird and unfriendly, the managers are incompetent, they are unethical, and cheap, cheap, cheap.
2. They are homophobic and racist (I would never make this claim unless I saw it firsthand, it’s a very serious claim and I am very serious that I too was a victim of it).
3. I was lied to during the interview process. Everything I didn’t get in writing was changed by the time I started.
4. I was forced to lie to a customer. Specific incident: a CEO of a small company ordered high end polo shirts for their upcoming golf tournament. Their logo was gold and blue. Shirts came in (before I was hired) orange and blue. The CEO calls me and I go out there. Clearly, it’s orange and clearly, that is not what he ordered. I apologized and told him I would get it taken care of. My Regional, not wanting to take a loss, said too bad and forced me to go back out there and insist it was gold. Any idiot could see it was orange. I told the CEO I knew my Regional was crazy and apologized profusely.
5. Two weeks into my employment I was assigned a new customer roll out. I knew nothing about anything, I had no formal training, I was barely done filling out my HR paperwork. I pleaded with my Regional that it was not fair to a paying customer that I, a brand new employee, was responsible for this huge roll out. He sent me anyway. It was a disaster.
6. The Regional only hired women. He had one man on staff and only kept him because he was a top producer. The women were incompetent but good looking. Barbie types – botox, surgery, totally into themselves and completely incompetent sales people. He would ask them to join him for after hours events – concerts, dinners, shows. The Regional was married, by the way. The sexual harassment was so obvious I couldn’t believe it. Again, very serious claim I’d never even consider making unless I knew it to be true and witnessed it with my own eyes.
7. He gave preference to the “barbies” who looked good but contributed nothing. Example: there was a single mom who was a top producer and had a ton of industry experience. One night (Regional always scheduled events in the evening) she explained her sitter fell through and it was an emergency and had to get her son from daycare. He wrote her up. Botox Barbie came and went as she pleased, never sold anything, could barely form a sentence, and got away with whatever she wanted to.
8. During regional training the out of town reps were booked at a hotel near the office. Problem was, the hotel had been hit by burglers not once, not twice, but three times. Sure enough, one of the reps had something stolen out of her room while at training. It was a very unsafe hotel but it was cheap so, in an effort to save $20/night, the Regional forced them to stay there.
9. Even their customers are catching on. Don't believe what I say? Fine, go to CintasExposed.com to see what their own customers say.
Regional’s initials are RW. He was a complete and total tool. He had absolutely no ethics and no idea how to manage people and treat customers. He was creepy and I would not be shocked if I saw him on a Dateline special.
If, after reading this, you still want to work for this company, you get what you deserve.
