so I've noticed a lot of Cintas people have said that Cintas was a great springboard for them into medical and pharma sales jobs... Is the same true for Unifirst?

Yes, if you are successful. Make sure to document all instances of success from coaching reports to awards, rankings, etc.

If you can show a successful track record in outside sales, you will gain a big edge in pharma/med arena.

Pharma companies have been laying off, with expiration of patents,
R & D not producing new products/FDA not approving.

True, pharma does have problems. I am not sure what field is good right now.

Supposedly if you are a good salesperson you will always be able to find a job though.

I wonder if that is still true about salespeople. So many jobs have radically changed. Seems like there should always be a place for good salespeople though.

Unifirst was a great springboard for me. Did 5 years there in the late 90's early 2000's when the money was good. Saw 100k + years I heard that's not the case any more in that industry. I left for a pharma job when it was not as regulated as now and then got into medical device. The comment above is dead on. Keep all awards certificates and anything that shows recognition. Build a great brag book and do your homework and the medical job of your dreams can be waiting for you.
