I was told its reasonable to make 75k first year, and about 100k 2nd, then promotions are very common. Is this realistic, or just part of a speal they tell everyone. How's the turnover? If they could make a good amount why is it alot leave for pharm or med sales? Any feedback

I would say it is reasonable if you do your job. Cintas does like to promote from within and turnover is very low if you are in a good area. If you give your best, continuously improve and stay flexible, Cintas can be a great company to stick with long term.

The only way to get promoted is if you've made PC (President's Club). If you're a sales rep, there is little room for advancement. If you're not on track to make PC, you mean nothing to them. Where I came from, turnover was very high. Everyone left Cintas after 1-2 years to get into medical sales. It's a great stepping stone job. You're micro managed to no end, have crazy quotas (and no they don't care about the economy, the numbers and goals just keep going up), and god forbid you put your number up in RED. After a while, you'll get sick of the phone blocks, 7am meetings, updating cintergy constantly, ride alongs, book reports, any other last minute reports or paperwork they put on you, manager who only cares about "your number" and the constant battle between service and sales. Stick it out as long as you can, but then get into medical sales and make the big money there. There's no way you can make over 100k in your second year, unless you're the only rep and getting all the sales leads, it's highly doubtful. If you bust your ass, it's fair to say you'll make around 75k (keep in mind that includes the car package etc.) Cintas is known for hiring young reps and burning and turning them. That's what they've always done and that's why there's so much turnover. Reps get burnt out very quickly and as soon as they start voicing that or start to struggle, or not have a quarter, Cintas puts them on a "performance plan" and sooner rather than later they're out the door. Like I said, if you want to advance and make the big bucks and have a better quality of life in medical sales, stick it out with Cintas for 1-2 years. Medical companies LOVE hiring people with Cintas backgrounds.

co-sign... I was working in the Southern California area and you described the company perfectly. Companies love hiring from Cintas. Stick it out for a year or two and don't drink the KOOL-AID!

Playing the game. You pretty much have to do that at all companies, but it seems particularly important here.

true you do at all companies but doing it at Cintas takes the energy out of you... I use to go to be on Sundays really dreading going into work. The happy times were on Fridays (pay day and the weekend) and thats the honest to God truth.

I could not disagree more more. You can make 100k plus in your first year as a sales rep with cintas, if you are a good rep and work your pay plan. It is most likely the hardest job you will ever have in the sales world but it can be lucrative and long term if you have a plan.
Beware of pharma jobs. I would only reccommend pursueing device because pharma reps are being phased out and there will not be any reps within the next 5-7 years. Besides the fact that there is little to no sales skills involved in dropping samples for the secretary.
